I remember reading about light cones in A Brief History of Time as a kid and it blowing my mind. Such a simple idea explained so well.

Not only was Hawking born on the anniversary of Newton's death, he passed away on Einstein's birthday, which is also Pi day. I guess we should have anticipated such excellent timing from him.

Hawking would have called that merely coincidence. I just say time is a big donut.



Looks like I'm going to be working in northern New Mexico this season with the wild horse unit (yes I will post photos) on the national forest that picked me up...

As I recall, that is an illustration of him singing the curse that makes wolves and bears appear to be cows, to get them near enough to his wicked stepmother to kill her, after she has finally broken him with the cheat-cake (a loaf of bread baked with rocks in it, which when he tries to cut it, snaps the knife which is the only memento he has of his lost family).

Today I found out that eucalyptus tea exists by accidentally buying some. I mean, it must be not too poisonous if it's sold as tea, but gah. Not a fan. Going to try some anyway, since I bought it, wish me luck....

Also, Isao Takahata died :< Sobered the day somewhat, I enjoyed and respected his work.

Lenny, Eucalyptus tea with honey is good for anything respiratory. It needs the honey. Two or three cups a day is fine, a dozen cups a day will overstrain your kidneys. Add lemon and it tastes even better.

Also, Takahata? Damn!
