I have an obsession with Broadway musicals if that has not already become apparent.
so, yeah. There's an electro-pop opera musical adaption of War and Peace

Is that The Great Comet!? I've been listening to that lately and I love it! Especially some of the songs in act 2, like Letters and Belaga. (I too, have recently developed an interest obsession with musicals, so far it's been Hamilton, Heathers, Singin' in the Rain, and Great Comet.)

WOOT. My family is about ready to throw me out a window for singing them at the top of my lungs. Especially with Prologue from the Great Comet.  :'D

I don't quite have the courage in my musical ability to do that ::) or in my memorization of the lyrics... :haw:

From what I can find online the lyrics are...

Warwuyu ŋarranha mulkana
ŋaraku bapawu
ŋurununa gunipunharayu
ya..a, bäpa marrkapmirri

ŋathina wilawilayurruna
ŋuruŋuna djarrawalyurruna
liya-wayma Bekulŋura
ya..a bäpa marrkapmirri

ŋäthina Djotarra manda
garray Dhuwandjika Daylulu
ŋuruŋuna djarrapalwuyu
liya-wayma wäŋaŋura Gunyaŋarri

Which translate as...

Grief has taken hold of me
For my father
When the sun sets
Oh, beloved father

Crying and crying
When the sun goes down
My mind there at Bekulnura
Oh, beloved father

Two Gumatj ladies crying
Ancestor boss ladies Dhuwandjika and Daylulu
When the sun sets
My mind there at the place Gunyanara

Purple Wyrm, thank you very much fo the translation.

I somehow haven't listened to Great Comet yet, I'll fix that later.

I've heard people say that Gordon Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind" was a love song.

It doesn't even seem that weird.  Good, though.

Today's a good day for Cayetena

Oh yeah, I've heard a few songs from that and it seems right up my alley.  I need to listen to it.
