Guys. Found pictures of Purple Wyrm's family.

Oh dear, that's the side of the family we don't talk about (they went into Barbershop!)

I want to hear them sing 'An unfortunate young man there was' in four-part harmony! I actually like barbershop.

RIP Ursula K. Le Guin :(

A sad day. I read A Wizard of Earthsea at high school, and her short story Pathways of Desire has stayed with me for years :(

Here's a chart about dogs (and one imposter).

RIP Ursula K. Le Guin

Wailing, here.

"Like the front and the back of your hand" -- helps a little. Not enough, right now.

May her words continue.

RIP Ursula K. Le Guin :(

My favorite was always Rocannon's World, with The left hand of Darkness a very close second.
She will be missed. :'(

I read A Wizard of Earthsea when I was in middle school, and I loved everything about her writing.
My favourite will always be Catwings, though, it cheers me up every time.

This is a really interesting podcast that talks about comics and their evolutions and what makes a comic a comic.

Very interesting! I've read one of Scott Mcclouds books, and I can only recommend it!

It's very sad that so much people still see comics not as an art form and a different way of storytelling, but just as a kinda funny but worthless thing... there are so may proofs that the opposite is true!! :'(

Thanks for sharing, Viola! I read both "Understanding Comics" and "Reinventing Comics" but I've never heard Scott McCloud speak before.  (And unrelated, I keep listening to 99% invisible every now and then and it seems like everyone on the show always has a very pleasant voice. Is it a prerequisite to only have people with nice voices on the podcast? What sorcery is this?)

I think that's significantly less true with each year that passes. These days it's so easy to stumble into a beautiful webcomic or some intriguing manga scan just by clicking a link online, even if you're not the type to, I dunno, seek out and buy art comics. If a person is at all interested in either fictional stories or art, they will run into a comic they like sooner or later.

No idea but I am forever addicted to 99% invisible and its uncanny ability to make anything interesting (seriously, I care so much about architecture and design now it's scary)
