I was bored this summer, so I decided to learn to sketch. This is maybe my 44th or 45th drawing, and the only SSSS-related one I thought was good enough to post. It's amazing how quickly you get better at something like this just by drawing something new every day or so. I still need more practice, but I'm definitely improving. It's based on the portrait of Reynir from the characters page - if I have time (college starts Friday) I might redraw all of the characters for practice.

You go, Glory!  That's the spirit.
An art teacher once bestowed on us his mantra for the three things to do Every Day Without Fail:
Draw
Floss
Exercise

I only picked up drawing again about 2-3 years ago, and have been using SSSS themes to spur me on.
*not talking about flossing or exercising*

Glory, nice Reynir!

Thanks! I didn't really like how the braid went - I wanted to have a slight curve, rather than a taper - and the clothes are a bit iffy, but not bad for a first attempt at Minna's style. I still need to practice more though :3

Antillanka, Wavewright, Buteo, Róisín, Luth, Olga and Heiteru, EEEE I am so glad you like it! Thank you so much for commenting :-)

Róisín, it was your comment this summer that prompted me to make this - it just was a long time in coming. Wavewright, as for the details lost - at least I got the practice of drawing the fur before it disappeared below the lantern. (And almost all the sheepskin did not dissappear, and I'm just as pleased with that, hee)

Glory: Yay for drawing, practicing, improving and being pleased with what you have done - that's a pretty Reynir with nice clear lines, very good for a first, (and a 45th) try!

I squeeed on tumblr, Kelpie, but am happy to do so again!  A most suave Emil.

Also, Olga, your work is gorgeous.  The Ensi/troll one is especially well done in its seductive linework.  I'm not familiar with the upside-down one's song, but it looks very intriguing, with the gears "under" their feet?

Thank you!  ;D

"Upside-down" song is in Russian, that's why you may not hear it. It was created by music band Melnitsa (means Mill). If you would like, I can trasnlate this song into English, however the meaning is not too easy for perception even in Russian, but music is lovely. There were stars, snowflakes, mountains, but lines I was particularly inspired were the following:

Because snow is falling vertically up

And behind the vault of heaven edge a clock mechanism ticks
