Inktober! Days 1-4.

They are all so beautiful and mysterious! I really like the person in the blue cape.

Been live streaming all day on picarto... at least I got something to show off!?
Sketch for the other two of the group done... just need time to do them :P

They are so cute!! Love the color palettes! :)

Piney and mithrysc, your inktobers are REALLY GREAT
everything here is really great

i'm here to dump off some Arts again i guess, from my might-as-well-be-doing-inktober drawing spree

(rosemaster from cucumber quest, and edward elric from fullmetal alchemist because it was october 3rd)

i also drew this horrible meme as my first cucumber quest fanart and i'm oddly satisfied with it

Nice!! Edward Elric looks amazing, especially his hair.
I used to read Cucumber Quest, but I stopped when they had arrived at the Flower Kingdom. Maybe I should continue...

Blanket thanks for the comments on my Inktobers ^-^

My entire thought process for this creature:
"Keys are nice."
"Antlers are nice."
"Hey, antlers can be used like hooks for hanging things."

Ha, I kind of figured as much. It's nonetheless a lovely drawing :)

I welcome constructive criticism - I have a lot of improving to do before I'm at the level that you are all at and I want to get there someday, hopefully!

This is so beautiful! I can totally tell it's Van Gogh.

This is beautiful!!! Please teach me how to pen because I have no idea what I'm doing.

Thanks! Haha, you don't want me teaching you - honestly neither do I 80% of the time, it's pretty much a case of just going for it and hoping for the best.
YOLO
I admire your dedication with all that linework. *squints at her tiny inked pieces*

And since you asked: right now the contrast between the flowers and some of the leaves is a bit low, particularly around the three flowers that form a curving line near the middle of the piece, but nothing that a little more hatching can't solve.

Yepppp, I see what you mean. It was rather frustrating to try and translate a piece with so much colour into monotone, and a lot of it was experimental (hence all of the annoying mistakes if you compare the pictures side-by side shhh). In retrospect, I probably should have been less afraid to leave some of leaves a lighter tone to contrast those darker areas, but oh well. I'll go add some more hatching etc now ^^

This is so beautiful! I can totally tell it's Van Gogh.

Thank you! That is high praise indeed ;)

I used to read Cucumber Quest, but I stopped when they had arrived at the Flower Kingdom. Maybe I should continue...

I used to read CQ too, but I also stopped there.  The plot just got waaaay too hard for me to follow.  (Also, I don't play videogames like Paper Mario, which I gather was a huge inspiration to the artist, so I was missing a lot of the art and story tropes she used.)  (I also got a little tired of the whole Legendary Hero business and poor timid Cucumber being the Only Sane Man, especially compared to Nautilus and his sister.)

But I do think it's beautifully drawn, and the artist is skillful about working in some non-traditionally gendered characters, in a subtle and age-appropriate way.

And to get back to the original topic, I loved Haiz's take on the Cucumber Quest characters!

*responds here because webcomics thread is far away* rEEAD IT AGAINNNN :0 it's making a lot more sense now! I actually had to stop following it about that time, as well, but there's a cohesive plot beyond the "usual" Legendary Hero thing. Things are starting to fall together and a lot of characters got a lot of development :D

in other news, AMAZING ART EVERYBODY!! I've been too lazy to do my Inktobers lately, but expect some later today >_>

Dat symbol yo, such clean.

This is a meme? .... What meme is it?
aaa thank!!

it's... a "draw your squad" type of meme from tumblr. Curry's done several with the SSSS team, and I think Starfallz did one too. This is the poison I picked (or rather, the poison someone picked for me. I did a mistake and asked "i wanna draw a fanart what fanart do i draw" and they. linked me. to a meme. and there was no way back and here i am)

also thank you everyone who commented! I read cucumber quest last week because i was in a place where i really needed that exact type of thing to soothe me, and I love it to bits and pieces and things made sense when I read it through, although I can see it could have been easy to fall off. that happens. I still have a bunch of webcomics I need to catch up on, soon, eventually,,,

My goodness I would so totally read a Haiz comic, I mean, it would be the best. Thing.

Also I just read through the entirety of Cucumber Quest out of first, curiosity, then investment, and I just, yes. I think I'll make my next Inktober piece a fanart, maybe.
... and maybe I'll dump all my Inktobers here so all 'yall can laugh at how bad Adrai is with inks learn from my mitsakes.

Oh, c'mon.  Like we wouldn't all RUSH to a life comic about Haiz's Adult Quest, or their OCs, or snarky feminist comments on art history, or anything else in that nifty style.  You just haven't found a theme to inspire you yet.

Oh, come on now, don't pressure Haiz into making a comic if they weren't already planning on it :P

Announcement: As some of you may have noticed we have updated the forum rules pertaining to art posts. The changes/clarifications are as follows:

- Do not post pictures of, or links to, any pornographic material of any kind.  This will result in an immediate ban, no questions asked.  To cover cultural differences, I'll clarify that this rule includes most nudity. Non-erotic nudity is allowed if put under spoiler with a warning.

- please keep shippy content containing kissing or upcoming sexual actions under spoilers with a warning

- If the drawing contains blood/scariness/violence within what the canon SSSS comic has portrayed/contained, you do not need to put it under a spoiler

- If it does contain graphic gore or abject horror, it's not the best idea to post it outright. Please link or spoiler with a warning.

Remember, SSSS is rated PG-13. If you know your art is above a PG-13 rating then it cannot be posted here.

Thank you for reading, and if you have any questions, complaints, or comments please do not hesitate to contact me, Kjeks or Sunflower about it.
