The Silent World Recording Studio is now open for business! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *fanfare*

We already have place to dump fanfics and drawings of all types, and now we have a place just to dump your SSSS inspired music! The current musical thread is much more for a specific purpose, while this is just a general music dump site! SO LOAD IT UP!

I'll start with posting a link. My first song, What Do You Do With a Mopey Shepherd is way too long for a single post, and had its own thread to hold it, so here it is!

Actually, nearly half the contents of the Poetry thread (https://ssssforum.com/index.php?topic=4.msg39262#msg39262) is actually SSSS-themed lyrics to existing songs (or "filk"). A separate thread here is a bit redundant *unless* authors are open to moving their filk lyrics over here. Which might actually be a good idea, since the Poetry thread has SO MANY entries, it's getting hard to find things.

In fact, I'll put up a poll on the poetry thread and see what they think. If the consensus favors splitting off song lyrics from straight poetry, Rosepieces, do you mind merging your thread with all those postings?

I tried to give it more accompaniment, but I always felt, that it detracted from the main melody... Not sure what to do about it.

The score also contains “Reynir had a llittle lamb” (http://disq.us/p/27j1gq9) by PressAllButtons, set to the appropriate melody. I think these lyrics could be expanded ad-absurdum, by squeezing more story/stanzas between the first and the second line. But it probably won’t make it much funnier.

ROD SERLING spoken intro: The Swan.
It has no other name.
It’s worked throughout history, and that work has fallen into legend.
The realm of Tuonela is its home, and it guards that home as though it were Fort Knox.
This realm is full of sleeping souls, and the swan goes forth to guide more home when they meet their fate.
It is terrible and gentle all at once.
The only thing it really hates is all of the paperwork that goes with the job.
Now, it has defended its home against an intruder who says he’s searching for a single soul:
His grandmother’s, entrapped in a foul kade.
This song is the story of that search, of that soul:
of the man who sought it,
the girl who loved it,
and the monster who stole it.

And now, the grandsons’ story
Onni’s sister, Tuuri the Bold, slumbered in Tuonela
To get her help he would have to become a very brazen fella
Onni believed he could reclaim his grandma if Tuuri could help him along
So he found her anon
And encountered the swan
And persuaded her briefly to be part of this song
And it worked!

When his cousin and friends
Came to question his ends
All five of them ready to fight
He became quite verbose
If not truly morose
Telling them of the wrong he would right

Well, I’ll tell you, Ensi
They all thought that it was suicide
But he wanted to free
One that’s grafted to me
And I won’t ever take that in stride, man!
